Have you ever been engaging with a co-worker and had someone come up to you to ask if everything is ok? The outsider to the conversation assumes that a fight was occurring when in fact, your were merely collaborating with no attention to the emotional management between each other.
When you encourage maximum individuality, it can yield both great returns but also unnecessary conflict. We as individuals are difficult to understand, often times to others and sometimes to ourselves. So if you value people being themselves, what keeps them together? How do you have a unified team of individuals and not force people into a specific box of behaviors and motivators? How do you actually keep people from fighting and encourage collaboration?
You do it through shared purpose. Being here to serve the same goal is the glue between a team of unique individuals.
In this episode, we discuss how two very unique individuals in Molly and Caroline are able to collaborate so effectively even though they are very different from one another. We review their ADVanced Insights Assessment data to understand more effectively where their natural conflict points are and how to at LEAST manage them, if not use them to their advantage in patient care. We also review what they admire most about each other in the workplace as well as what they find most infuriating! If you are ready to take the next step in collaboration, this episode is for you.
How do you collaborate with individuals that are different than you? Are you able to find common ground or do you struggle with working with them?
